Conformation is the official term used for a dog show. The purpose is to evaluate dogs for breeding stock. An AKC Specialty Show is a conformation event limited to a single breed, and is sponsored by a national parent club, like the Vizsla Club of America, or a Regional club, like the South Coast Vizsla club.  It is considered a very special high honor within a breed to win a Specialty show. The Specialty may stand alone, or may be incorporated into an All-Breed Show. There are several classes to choose from when entering a dog. In order to enter, a dog must be at least 6 months old on the day of the show unless it is a 4-6 month puppy beginner competition.
